Dean A. Bohlman

1949 – 2026

Dean A. Bohlman

Dean A. Bohlman, 76, of Eland, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of LeRoyer Hospice.

Dean was born on September 3, 1949, in Wausau, to Howard and Marjorie (Frohman) Bohlman. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

On October 21, 2006, Dean was united in marriage to Joanne Bielen, who remained his loving partner and best friend.

Dean was a skilled craftsman and the owner and operator of Bohlman Construction. Over the years, his talents shaped countless apartment buildings, duplexes, businesses, nursing and CBRF facilities, and homes throughout Wisconsin, Colorado, and Hawaii. He especially cherished time spent in his shop, where he transformed simple pieces of lumber into treasured works of art — crafting furniture, signs, and beautiful live-edge bar tops that will remain lasting reminders of his creativity and skill.

An avid outdoorsman, Dean found peace in nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and he had a deep appreciation for wildlife. Though he loved animals of all kinds, dogs held a special place in his heart — especially his beloved Rufus, Dexter and Lily. Dean also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

Dean is lovingly survived by his wife, Joanne Bielen-Bohlman; his children, Cory (Carrie) Bohlman of Wittenberg, Calley (Ryan) Mackenzie of Poulsbo, WA, Sam Bohlman of Sun Prairie, and Casey (Alicia) Bohlman of LaCrosse; four grandchildren, Riley (Kylie) Bohlman, Colton (Paige) Bohlman, Louie Mackenzie, and Eli Bohlman; his sister, Pam Daffron of Eland; his cherished dog, Lily; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home.
