Eleanor J. Nueske, age 94, of Shawano County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Birnamwood.
Eleanor was born on June 27, 1931, to Edward and Lillian (Breaker) Foth. On March 30, 1953, she was united in marriage to Elmer Nueske in Michigan. Together they shared 69½ years of marriage before Elmer preceded her in death in 2022. Their life together was rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to family.
Eleanor worked at a papermill in Neenah and later at Lord's Tax Firm in Manawa. She and Elmer also dedicated many years to working their dairy farm before retiring. A wonderful homemaker, Eleanor loved to cook, bake, and can. She delighted in collecting recipes and cookbooks and enjoyed watching cooking shows. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and welcome.
Eleanor also found great joy in watching and feeding her birds. Each year, she patiently waited for their return in the spring, a quiet ritual that brought her comfort and happiness.
Known as a kind and gentle soul, Eleanor deeply loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Her greatest joy was serving THE LORD. She loved gathering with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Kris (Mark) Neuendorf and Roger (Stacey) Nueske; daughter-in-law, Cheri Nueske; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Albert) Gillis, Justin (Jannah) Neuendorf, Sabrina (Nick) Tews, Angela (Jeremy) Benson, Cassie (Justin) Kressel, Derek (Ashley) Nueske, Kelsie (Robert) Schoneck, Ashley (Zack) Russell, and Chase Nueske; and twelve great-grandchildren, Cole, Ayla, Riley, Ethan, Liam, Avery, Chloe, Brinley, Brityn, Beau, Callum, Callan, and one on the way.
She is further survived by her siblings and in-laws, Norma Naef, Kenneth (Joannie) Foth, Bill (Sylvia) Nueske, and Bob Nelson, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Elmer; her son, Darrell; and her siblings and in-laws, Lauretta (Harry) Kassube, Maranda (Warren) Sykes, Harvey (Clara) Foth, Howard (Doris) Foth, Marjorie (Alvin) Krisher, Vivian (Elmer) Marx, Allen Foth, Eugene (Pearl) Foth, Dorothy Gehrke, Lyle (Joan) Foth, and Conrad Naef.
