Ervin F. Jagodzinski, 95, of Weston, formerly of Edgar, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Wausau Manor, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born on July 7, 1930, to the late Paul and Balbina (Knetter) Jagodzinski in Edgar. Ervin married Arlean Butalla on April 7, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon, and recently celebrated 73 years together.
Ervin will be remembered by those close to him as a hard worker, a person that was physically and mentally strong, and one that had a great sense of humor. His contribution to the cheese and dairy industry was highly regarded and appreciated. For 38 years, Ervin ran a state-of-the-art cheese factory that was a model for production. Ervin was a licensed cheese maker and was a lifetime member of the Central Wisconsin Cheesemakers and Buttermakers Association. Over the years he had cheesemakers from all over the world through his factory to see how new equipment could be used in their own factories.
Outside of work, Ervin was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a member of the Holy Name Society, a 50+ year member of the Edgar Lions Club, and an early member of the Poniatowski Dare Devils. He loved snowmobiling with family and friends, working in the woods, four-wheeling, and cutting the grass. He also enjoyed making firewood with his sons and son-in-law. Ervin was quite the dancer in his early years and loved dancing polkas and waltzes with Arlean. He enjoyed a good game of Sheepshead with family and friends as well.
Survivors include his wife, Arlean; children, Dale Jagodzinski, Diane (David) Konsella, Daryl Jagodzinski (Brenda Williams), and Daryn Jagodzinski (Mary Rosier); grandchildren, Kathleen (Michael) Maher, Kristine Konsella, and Jennie (Davin) Konsella-Norene; great-grandchildren, Priela and Matthew Maher and Madelyn, Dylan, and Parker Norene; sisters, Joan Wagner, Janet Trawicki, and Theodora Theiler; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgar, with Rev. Alan Wierzba presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery, Edgar. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
A special thank you from the family to the nurses and staff at Wausau Manor and to Nina and Dawn from Aspirus Palliative Care for the compassionate care that Ervin received.
