Jean Wiedeman

1940 – 2026

Jean Wiedeman

Jean Wiedeman (nee Niedzwiecki), aged 85 of Wausau, passed away on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at her home surrounded by her children.

She was born on Friday, December 13th, 1940 in Munising, Michigan; to the late John and Alma (nee Erickson) Niedzwiecki.

On July 25th,1959, Jean married the love of her life, Marshall. They were blessed to have had nine children. Over the years, Jean and Marshall operated numerous businesses together, including: a deli, a discount store in Merrill and a successful painting company. She worked at Hurd Millwork for many years until her retirement in 2007. During her retirement, she and her husband helped countless numbers of veterans and homeless individuals, in addition to helping many more charities and good causes. She loved searching for treasures at thrift stores and rummage sales and was always raring to go shopping. She also enjoyed reading and working puzzle books.

Jean lived a full life with the love of her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her children: Wayne Wiedeman, Cami Kramer, Marshall J. Wiedeman (Barb), Dennie Wiedeman, Christine Opichka (Dennis), Kitty Wiedeman (Nathan) & Alan Wiedeman; grandchildren: Joshua Kramer, Mark Nemke, Erik Wiedeman, Keith Wiedeman, Jeremy Kramer, Megan Thiel, Carmen Ebert, Devin Opichka, Samantha Thiel, Jasper Wiedeman & Wendy Howell; great-granchildren: Davon Kramer, Madelynn Opichka, Olive Wiedeman, Owen Wiedeman & Brooke Ebert; Many, many in laws, cousins, nephews and nieces. Her favorite kid, Maestro (Cat).

Jean was preceded in death by: her husband, Marshall T.; her parents, John & Alma Niedzwiecki; her sister, Mary Ann; infant daughter, Wendy; daughter, Merry Star; granddaughter, Sheri Kramer; son in law, Timothy Kramer; daughter in law, Renee & granddaughter inlaw, Norma.

The family would like to thank Aspirus Hospice for all of their help, patience and loving care during her final days.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
