Joanne M. Kostka, 88, formerly of Weston, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Vesta Memory Care, Brookfield, WI under the care of Agrace Hospice.
Joanne was born on October 10, 1937 in Galloway, the daughter of Walter and Bernice (Lutzewitz) Tryba.
On February 20, 1960, Joanne was united in marriage to Valerian Kostka at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galloway. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2021.
Joanne graduated from St. Mary's Nursing School in 1958 and was a nurse at various clinics for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, and trying new recipes in cookbooks. Val and Joanne had many friends and loved hosting dinner parties and going out to eat. Joanne especially loved the time spent with her family and will be deeply missed.
Joanne is survived by her children, Ellen (Michael) Lucey and Steven (Kira) Kostka; grandson, Joseph (Bri) Lucey and great-grandchildren, D.J. Lucey and Mason Lucey; brother-in-law, James 'Loyal' (Karen) Kostka and sister-in-law, Sue (Jack) Wanta.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Betty (Russ) Hanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Fr. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 9AM until the time of Mass at the church.
