Judith (Judi) Laura Laduron (Manecke)
Judi was called home to be with the Lord on June 9th, 2026 at the age of 84.
Born on April 20, 1942, in Wausau, Wisconsin, Judi was the daughter of the late Vincent and Vitalia Manecke. She graduated from Wausau East High School in 1960 and later relocated to Milwaukee, where she met her future husband and love of her life, Gerard (“Jerry”) Laduron, on a blind date. They were united in marriage on May 26, 1962, in Milwaukee, where they began their life together and started to raise their family.
Judi began her professional career with Federal Pacific Electric, a division of Reliance Electric and in 1983, she and Jerry returned to Wausau, where she found employment at L&S Electric. During this time, they also spent many enjoyable weekends and vacations at their cottage in Crooked Lake, Wisconsin and could often be found “Gone Fishing”.
The cottage eventually became their full-time residence where Judi continued to commute to Wausau, WI or Menominee, MI for work until her retirement in 2004. They enjoyed countless hours with family and dear friends, as well as many memorable days spent fishing. Following retirement, they embraced every opportunity to travel, exploring various states with their fifth wheel and boat, seeking out favorite fishing spots and visiting loved ones along the way.
Jerry preceded her in death on April 6, 2006, just one month shy of their 44th wedding anniversary. In the years that followed, Judi remained deeply engaged in her community, generously dedicating her time to organizations including St. Mary of the Lake Christian Women, the Crooked Lake Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, the Crooked Lake Sportsman’s Club, and the Crooked Lake/Mountain Lions Club.
She also treasured the friendships she built through her involvement with the Mountain Red Hatters, the Mountain Slick Chicks, and the Crooked Lake Ladies card club—connections she greatly missed after returning to Wausau in 2015.
A devoted sports fan, Judi enthusiastically supported the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Her spirited cheering was well known and could often be heard throughout the neighborhood.
Survivors include Jerry and Judi’s five children: Laura Anderson; Gerard (“Butch”) Laduron Jr.; Debra Smith; Susan (Ray Jansen) Grunwald; and Jeff (Heather) Laduron. She is further survived by eight grandchildren: Michael, Whitney, Scott (Amanda), Amanda (Mitchell), Greg, Jennifer (Aaron), Mellisa, and Nick (Abby); eight great-grandchildren: Michael, Sierra, Mason, Vinnie, Marshall, Mitchell, Chevelle, and Bella; and one great-great-grandchild, Jasper.
Judi is also survived by her Brother and Sister in-laws Vern and Geri Laduron, Mary Graesing, Karen Volkman, and Darlene Manecke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Christopher (Mary) Graesing, James Laduron, Ken (Cheri) Laduron, Steve (Michelle) Laduron, Dean (Julia) Volkman, Kristy Marienthal, Carie (Jeff) Hoeser, Dawn (Ricky) Snyder, Kelley Niederhauser, Dave (Sara) Manecke, Dawn (Rob) Simpson, Ann (Adam) Victor and many dear friend and cousins that she cared about deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Vitalia Manecke; her husband Jerry’s parents, Harold and Alice Griebeler; her brother, David Manecke; grandchildren Timothy Gendron, Matthew Gendron, Jessica Smith, and Vincent Laduron; great-grandson Kolton Lemma; brothers-in-law Wayne Graesing, Jerome Volkman, and Fred Winters; sister-in-law Georgia Winters; nephews Robert Graesing and Ty Marienthal; and niece Denise Mascari.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 19, 2026, at St. Marks Catholic Parish, 602 Military Road, Rothschild, WI. Visitation will take place from 9:30 until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Mountain Cemetery, 14097 Silver Hill Road, Mountain, WI 54149.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Christopher Peterson, Oncology Specialist at Aspirus Cancer Center, as well as Haley Breaker, Lacie Beltran and the entire Aspirus Hospice nursing team, for their compassion, dedication, and exceptional care during this difficult time. Your support and kindness brought great comfort to our mother and to all of us, and it is deeply appreciated.
Judi has peacefully departed to be reunited with Jerry, together “gone fishing” once again.
