Leone A. Preuss, 96 of Birnamwood, died on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital.
Leone was born on January 12, 1930, in Eland, the daughter of Royal and Linnie (Parfitt) Meverden.
On September 11, 1954, Leone was united in marriage to Kenneth Preuss in Pine City, MN. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2018.
In her earlier years, Leone enjoyed attending horse shows and watching fast-pitch softball games with her husband. She was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Leone also loved playing cards and bingo, and she especially cherished opportunities to go out to eat with her children.
Leone is survived by two sons, Paul (Cheryl) Preuss and William (Susanne) Preuss; five grandchildren, Shelly (Josh) Kasper, Steve (Leslie) Preuss, Billie Jo Preuss, Shaun (Kaylee) Preuss and Kayla (Mitch Tischauser) Hanke; 16 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Jean Braunel.
Leone was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant grandson, Randall; one brother, Merville (Lucille) Meverden and two sisters, Verna (Daniel) Corrigan and Loretta (Edward) Wyne.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Matthew Christians will preside. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church.
