Nancy was a devout Catholic who raised her children to know and follow Jesus which brought her great peace and joy. She had a servant's heart always caring and giving to those she saw in need and volunteering her time, talents, and cookies for countless events at St. Paul's. Nothing brought a broader smile to her face than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing, reading, coloring, and of course, making cookies and knitting afghans for all of them, including some of her children's friends. Nancy was known for baking many types of Christmas cookies enjoyed year-round. Empty cookie tins often made their way back to her for refills with kind notes of thanks and appreciation.
Nancy is survived by her children; Ernest (Lynn) Vera of Sunderland, England, Mark (Noel) Vera of Edmond, OK, Steve Vera, Jenny Vera of Hatley, Kathryn (James Walter) Mottl of Plainfield, IL, Theresa (Bobby Lee) Hoffmann of Hatley, Ann (Tom) Ahles of Wausau.
