Todd Lewis Brown, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2026.
Todd was born on June 26, 1957 in Tigerton, WI son of Lewis and Betty (Wesener) Brown. He graduated from Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School in 1975. In 1977 he earned a degree in Electronics from North Central Technical College in Wausau.
Todd started working at the Waupaca Foundry in 1979 doing electrical maintenance. He continued his education, while working, to become an Electrical Engineer. His expertise added to the Foundry’s ability to expand their company across several states. After 35 years Todd retired.
Todd married Connie (Spieth) on April 26, 1980 in Tigerton, WI and together they had three children. Todd and Connie moved to Waupaca in 1985 where they raised their family.
Todd had a wide range of skills and could fix virtually anything. He was incredibly detail-oriented and took great pride in doing things the right way. He loved the challenge of rebuilding, repairing or refurbishing equipment. His expertise and knowledge of electrical was well known. From 1985 to present day, Todd worked as the electrician for several carnival companies where he would often travel with his family to county fairs to fix various rides.
Todd’s true passion ignited in the mid 80’s while automating privately owned hydroelectric dams enabling the owners to remotely manage water flow and turbine generation without continuous human intervention. Todd and Connie enjoyed traveling across multiple states in their motorhome while Todd worked those projects.
Todd played ball all his life, only stopping because work got in the way. His love of the game was passed down to his children and now carried on with his grandboys. He often told his grandboys, “I hit home runs so I didn’t have to run the bases.” He enjoyed watching his grandboys play sports any chance he got.
Todd will be greatly missed by his family and friends both local and around the country.
Todd is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie, his children Derek (Sarah) Brown of Waupaca, WI, Melanie (Ryan) Gilles of Stevens Point, WI and Ryan (Christan) Brown of LaCresent, MN, and seven grandboys Keenan, Kelson & Kollin Gilles, Chapman & Channing Brown, Bronson & Dekker Brown, his brother Chris Brown, sister Sharla (John) Brown and several brother & sister in laws, nieces & nephews and extended family.
Todd is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Betty Brown, his in-laws Walter and Irene Spieth along with many of his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 17th from 4p-8p and Saturday, July 18th from 9a until the funeral service at 11a at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg, WI. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Rest Cemetery in Elderon, WI
