Wai Man Lee Quong, "Benny, "was born on March 26, 1944, in Kaiping, China, to the late Min Quong and Mee (Lee) Quong. He passed away at home on March 7, 2026. Wai Man grew up in the Philippine Islands.
Wai Man married LiLi Li in 1991, with whom he shared a devoted and enduring partnership. Together they raised their son, Michael, who was a great source of pride and joy in his life.
After earning a business degree, Wai Man discovered that his true passion was in the kitchen. He pursued a career as a chef, where his creativity, dedication, and love of food allowed him to bring happiness to many through his cooking.
Outside of work, Wai Man found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, tending to his garden, and watching television—especially cooking shows that continued to inspire his culinary interests. Known as a wonderful conversationalist, he had a gift for engaging others with warmth, humor, and thoughtful discussion.
Wai Man is survived by his beloved wife, LiLi Li; his son, Michael; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Min and Mee Quong; four brothers; and two sisters.
Wai Man will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for cooking, and the many meaningful conversations he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
