Carl Edward Peterson, age 77, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. He was born May 6, 1948, to the late Harry and Dorothy (Anderson) Peterson. Carl lived a full and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, country, and the great outdoors.
A proud Army veteran, Carl served his country for two years with honor and humility. His patriotism continued long after his service, as he remained an active and dedicated member of the American Legion, where he found camaraderie and a shared sense of purpose among fellow veterans.
Carl was happiest under an open sky — whether casting a line on a quiet lake at sunrise or tracking through the woods in the fall. His love of fishing and hunting wasn't just about the sport; it was about being in nature and finding peace.
Carl is survived by his long-time life partner, Linda Novotny; his sister, Christine Morrison; his children, Sadie Dekens, Julie Krolczyk, and David Peterson; and many grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents and his brother, Lloyd Peterson.
He will be remembered as a caring friend, a devoted family man, and a proud American who lived his values every day.
