Clifford John Hatz, age 63, of Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2026. He was born on May 7, 1963, in Merrill to the late John and Berdina (Luedtke) Hatz. Clifford graduated from Merrill High School in 1981.
Clifford had a lifelong passion for aviation. He was a self-employed aircraft craftsman specializing in restoring fabric covered antique and classic airplanes. Many of his restorations won prestigious awards at national shows. A good singer he was often called on to perform at weddings, parties and memorial services.
He is survived by his brother, Lyman (Judy) Hatz and his sister, Barbara Hatz; his nephews, Wyat Hatz and Jordan Lesky; and his niece, Angela (David) Jirovec. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Aaron Hatz and Allan Hatz.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the skies he so dearly cherished.
