Dauna Faye Gollhardt, age 91 of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully on May 20th at the Friendly Village nursing home in Rhinelander.
Dauna was born on November 9th, 1934 to Allen and Alma Hermann in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She was married to Gene Gollhardt for 61 years. Dauna enjoyed spending time golfing and traveling with her husband. Together they enjoyed traveling around the country with friends and visiting family. They spent most of their winters in Florida as snowbirds. Dauna loved her family very much. She often held endearing nicknames for her family members and in turn she herself earned a title as "the Pajama Grandma".
Dauna; is survived by her two daughters, Susan and (Kevin) Zuege, Eureka Mt, Karen (Bill) Anderson, Rhinelander WI, three grandchildren, Nathan (Kirsten) Zuege, Lyndhurst Ohio, Kyle Zuege, Painsville Ohio, and Jared Zuege (Amanda Cain), and great-grandsons, Everett Zuege, Garrett Zuege, and great-granddaughter, Isla Zuege. Dauna is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Dauna is preceded in death by her husband Gene Gollhardt, two brothers, Jerry and Wallace Hermann, sister Sandra Fickau, and grandson, Ian Thomas Zuege.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Howard Young Hospital in Woodruff, Aspirus Hospice, and Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander for such exceptional care, comfort, and compassion.
