In Memoriam

Elaine M. Dabler

1944 – 2026

Elaine M. Dabler

Elaine M. Dabler, 81, passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family and under the gentle care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Born on May 13, 1944, to the late John and Marjorie (Gavitt) Gusman, Elaine's life was defined by her devotion to those she loved. On July 3, 1965, she married the love of her life, Orville Dabler. Together, they built a life in Rothschild, where Elaine dedicated herself to raising their three children. Once her children were grown, she shared her friendly nature with the community as a teller for Connexus Credit Union.

In retirement, Elaine and Orville embraced the "snowbird" lifestyle, traveling in their fifth-wheel camper to Ocklawaha, Florida, to escape the Wisconsin winters. Following Orville's passing, Elaine found peace and happiness living on the lake, where she cherished quiet afternoons on the pontoon.

Known for her generous spirit, Elaine delighted in "spoiling" her friends and family. Whether it was through a thoughtful gift or a kind word, she made sure those around her felt valued. She was a lifelong lover of dogs and found great companionship in her "furry children" over the years. Above all, she was a kind, loving matriarch who treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

She is survived by: Children: Robert (Tedra), Kris (Todd) Opal, and John (Brita). Grandchildren: Jenna (Casey), Austin (Kelsey), Asha (Rylee), and Augie. Great-Granddaughter: Nola Grace. Furry Companion: Luna. Extended Family: Many beloved nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville; her brothers, Robert, John "Jack," and Gary; her nephew, Jonathon; and her beloved dog, Lola.

Private family services will be held to honor Elaine's life.

Arrangements by Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society.
