Jeanette (Jan) Bresnahan, 87 passed away on February 8th, 2018, at her home under the care of Compassus Hospice Service and loving family.
She was born to the late William and Arlene Rohloff December 30th, 1938.
Jan married Pat Bresnahan at St Mary's Church on February 8th, 1958. Love is a powerful thing – Pat passed away one day after their anniversary in 2018 and Jan passed on their anniversary. They both cherished their marriage and would not leave this world before another year of celebration. This speaks to the powerful bond they shared together. Jan truly lost the love of her life. For over 60 years they did everything together and were inseparable, Jan missed him dearly.
Jan became a very strong and independent woman after the loss of her husband Pat. She was always busy doing something to occupy her time. Most notably she enjoyed spending time tending to her garden, numerous flower beds and doing lawn care. She could always be seen riding on her beloved John Deere 'tractor'.
Jan was very dedicated to her family and church but did work a few jobs early on in life. She worked as a waitress at Palm's Supper Club and Lo-mar's (currently BB Jacks.) It wasn't until the kids started to grow up that she realized her true love, interior design. Her husband Pat liked to fix things, and she knew how to make a home beautiful. They worked well together as a team as they proudly refurbished 18 homes across the Wausau area.
She is survived by her children Pat (Terri) Bresnahan, Jill (Roger) Reisner, & John Bresnahan. Grandchildren: Jenny Trzebiatowski, Brad (Abby) Dobeck, Heidi Desjarlais, Jack Bresnahan, Kadine Bresnahan, Megan Bresnahan, & great grandchildren: Reese, Grey, Rylan, Isaiah, Vaughn, & Emily. Nieces & nephews and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Pat, and daughter Kim Nelson.
Mom always said, "If you have something nice, take care of it". Jan Instilled these values within her family… appreciating and taking care of the people and life around her. Rest in peace mom, thank you for being a loving mother, friend, and mentor.
