In Memoriam

Jennifer S. Moran

1975 – 2026

Jennifer S. Moran

Jennifer Streff Moran, lovingly known as Jennie, born on October 8, 1975, in Canby, Minnesota, passed away on April 30, 2026, in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was 50 years old.

Jennie spent her early years on her family farm in Canby, where her love for the outdoors took root. She graduated from Canby High School in 1994 and continued her education at the University of Minnesota Morris, earning a degree in communications. Throughout high school and college, she was an active choir member and often performed solo or in ensembles with her beautiful alto voice. On her birthday, October 8, 1999, in Minneapolis she met the love of her life, Tim. They were married two years later on October 19, 2001. After spending a few years in Cleveland, they eventually settled in Wausau where they raised their two daughters, Natalie and Alison.

Growing up on a hog farm was probably the trigger that led to her life-long love of gettin' dirty and working with her hands. It makes sense then, that Jennie found immense joy working in her garden, planting flowers, and mowing the lawn. Every Thursday for the past eight years, rain or shine, you could find her doing all things farming at Red Door Family Farm where she was considered family. Jennie enjoyed cooking seasonally from her CSA and believed in sustainability. This conscientiousness led her to find The Good News Project, Inc where she spent her Fridays supporting their e-CYCLE for electronics recycling program. Further putting her hands to work, Jennie found great satisfaction "working with her guys" at Habitat for Humanity on Tuesdays where she would intake drop off items such as microwaves, tools and light fixtures, and then clean them to verify that they were working safely before being donated.

Jennie was passionate about health and fitness, especially if the activity brought her outdoors. She was comfortable being alone but never turned down an opportunity to workout with a friend. Jennie was also a long-time member of The Wausau Curling Center, where she ran their Learn to Curl program for many years. Many of Wausau's finest curlers curl because of Jennie. She was a master thrifter and her friends were often the lucky benefactors of her keen eye, finding thrifted treasures waiting for them on their doorstep.

Above all, family was the center of Jennie's world. Her daughters were her pride and joy. Cheering them on at swimming, traveling with them, and experiencing the simplest moments at home made her the happiest. She took tremendous pride in watching her daughters grow into loving, compassionate, independent women.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Tim, and their two daughters, Natalie and Alison. She also leaves behind her parents, Chally and Chuck Streff; her sister Erin Streff, and Erin's husband Tumaini with their children Musa, Noel, and Ila; her in-laws John and Jan Moran; her brother-in-law Chris Moran and his wife Shannon with their children Roman, Maxwell, and Rose; and her sister-in-law Julie Moran.

Jennie will be remembered for her beautiful smile and quick wit. Her legacy is one of compassion, bravery and unwavering devotion to her family, friends and community. Jennie's presence brought light and laughter to those around her. She will be deeply missed. Good Curling, Jennie!

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 9, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at The Wausau Curling Center, 1920 Curling Way, Wausau, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the organizations that Jennie held close to her heart, Habitat for Humanity and Good News Project INC. As well, consider supporting Red Door Family Farm by signing up for their CSA or stopping by their stand at the Wausau Farmers Market. Tell them Jennie sent you.

Arrangements by Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society.
