Jesse Charles Frederick, age 50, passed away on December 16, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1975.
Jesse was the beloved son of the late Patrick Frederick and Susan VanDerGeest.
A proud "Treky" through and through, Jesse had a lifelong love of Star Trek and often wrote imaginative short stories where he cast himself as the fleet commander of the Star-Ship Enterprise. His creativity knew no bounds, and his curiosity about the world—and the universe beyond it—was endless. Jesse was deeply passionate about space, airplanes, and rockets, and he delighted in learning and sharing what fascinated him.
Jesse loved gaming and was known for being very social. He genuinely enjoyed sitting and chatting with people, connecting easily with those around him. His conversations were filled with enthusiasm, wonder, and warmth. Recently, Jesse had been learning to cook with his mom, Susan, who proudly shared that he was getting pretty good at it.
Jesse is survived by his loving mother, Susan VanDerGeest; his stepfather Robert VanDerGeest; his daughter, Kaitlyn Granac; his brothers, Jon and Aaron Frederick; his stepsisters, Sheila (Mark) Winfield, Cortney (Tim) Swan, and Casey VanDerGeest; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Heather Frederick.
Jesse will be remembered for his vivid imagination, his passion for the universe, and the joy he found in connecting with others. His presence, curiosity, and heartfelt enthusiasm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
