Rachael Lea Howen

2025

Rachael Lea Howen

It's with deep sadness that the family of Rachael Lea Howen, announce that she left us at age 44, on December 16th 2025. She's the youngest daughter of James Howen and Sally Hall. Rachael attended Stevens Point Area schools. She loved working with people and held various jobs over her lifetime. She had a passion for helping others and loved animals, often giving her last dollar to someone who she thought needed it more. Providing those around her with unconditional love and empathy was important to her. She enjoyed tending to her garden, she would dig up her outside garden plants and bring them inside for winter. She couldn't bear to let them die. As teenagers Rachael and her sister would drive around listening to their music loud, while changing the lyrics to fit their current situation. When asked for their favorite memories of their Aunt, her nieces said her laughter that would fill the house, her funny voice, accents, and watching movies together. Her two white cats, she called her girls, Peaches and Jujube, were her pride and joy. At the end of her life, Rachael was able to save five other people through the gift of organ donation.

Rachael leaves behind her parents James (Kelly) Howen, Sally (Joe) Hall. Her son James Hall. Her sister Roxanna (Christopher Schroeder) Howen, Her nieces and nephew Chloe Schroeder, Ramona Kirch, Alex Schroeder and Ava Jolie Kirch. She's also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She joins in death her sister Marian Marlene, her grandparents Joseph and Ramona Gooch, Marian "Mitzi" Howen. Her uncle Thomas Gooch, Aunts Joyce Wermeling, Brenda Rizzo and Diana Howen

We celebrate Rachael's life everyday by showing compassion and love, being there for each other.

Arrangements by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society.
