Raymond Sleck

1936 – 2026

Raymond Sleck

Raymond "Ray" Sleck, 90, passed away on March 8, 2026.

Ray was born on February 13, 1936, to the late Walter and Mary (Pheifer) Sleck. Throughout his life, Ray was known for his quick mind, and the simple joys that brought happiness.

Ray loved the outdoors in Northern Wisconsin. Camping, hunting, and fishing were among his favorite pastimes. He also had a passion for cars which led to a long career in the auto industry. He never turned down a good game of checkers. Ray enjoyed living in Las Vegas for over 30 years. He especially enjoyed the challenge of the casino Baccarat tables and the bright lights of the city.

Music and karaoke were a special part of Ray's life. He had a beautiful singing voice and loved country western songs. Friends and family will fondly remember how he would often answer the phone with a song, and how he made it a tradition to call loved ones on their birthdays to sing "Happy Birthday."

Ray had a big heart for animals, especially dogs. Over the years he adored many, but held a special place in his heart for his four beloved companions. At home, he took pride in keeping things tidy and neat. He also enjoyed good food and loved going out for ribs and fried chicken. Quiet evenings watching Hallmark movies—especially Christmas movies—were among the simple pleasures he treasured most.

Ray is survived by his wife of 37 years, Denise, whom he married in 1989. He is also survived by his children, Anthony, David, Roger (Cyndi) and Kathy; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Leilani Kerner; one brother; and two sisters.

Ray will be remembered for his songs and the joy he found in life's everyday moments. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
