Robert K. Schmitt

Robert "Bob" Kenneth Schmitt, 95, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin passed away peacefully during the early morning of April 24th, 2026.

Bob was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 27th, 1931 to Arthur and Hilda Schmitt. At a young age, he experienced the loss of his mother, Hilda, and was lovingly raised by his stepmother, Pearl.

He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War and carried that pride throughout his life. In later years, he was honored to participate in an Honor Flight and was invited back to South Korea, a meaningful experience he treasured deeply. Bob remained committed to supporting fellow veterans and was an active and dedicated member of the VFW, including his local Post 382.

Bob was married to the love of his life and his "beauty", Kay, for the last 67 years. Together they enjoyed hosting lively parties with family and friends, antiquing adventures, and trying their luck gambling. Side by side they truly lived life to the fullest.

He was a proud and devoted father to his three sons, Daniel, Gary, and Gregory. Nothing brought Bob more joy than being a grandfather to his six grandchildren and a great-grandfather to his three great-grandchildren. He embraced his role as Grandpa wholeheartedly and took great pride in being present, supportive, and loving in their lives.

Bob will be remembered for his gift of storytelling, his warm sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. he loved sharing stories, reminiscing about the past, and bringing joy to family gatherings. His warmth, wisdom, and playful spirit made him the best dad and grandpa anyone could ask for and a beloved presence to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and many cherished friends and family members.

Bob's legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply. He will be missed beyond words and remembered always for his love, laughter, and the countless memories he leaves behind.

A service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, N88 W136 Main St., Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin 53051, on Friday, May 29th, at 11:00 am. Please gather at the mausoleum.
