Ronald D. Sutheimer

Ronald D. Sutheimer, 92, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Willowbrook Senior Living in Stevens Point, WI.

Ronald was born August 8, 1933, to the late Walter and Loretta (Persike) Sutheimer, in the town of Lanark, WI. He graduated from high school in Amherst, WI, in May of 1951.

He married June (Damrau) Sutheimer on January 17, 1952. He divorced in 1982. He remarried Ethelyn (Bull) Sutheimer on April 30, 1994.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Maynard Sutheimer, Arleigh (Mildred) Sutheimer, grandsons Keith Sutheimer, Travis Sutheimer, Michael Higgins, Nathanial Bull, son Christopher Bull and great grandson Nicholas Benz.

Ron is survived by his wife Ethelyn (Bull) Sutheimer, children Dwynne (Ann) Sutheimer, Gene Sutheimer, Dale Sutheimer, Patricia (Patsy) Sutheimer, Vicki (Dale) Higgins, Penny Sutheimer, Sadie (Larry) Dassow, 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 9 great, great grandchildren.

Ronald worked at Nelsonville Creamery and Pavelski Potato routes with June. He then got into the Soo Line Railroad as an engineer until they sold out. After retiring from the railroad, he went to work for his son, Dwynne Sutheimer Trucking as a dispatcher and driver. He then drove truck for Wysocki Potato Farm.

Ronald's interests and hobbies were spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, hosting family reunions and working on projects in his garage. He also enjoyed going to Spooner with Lyn to see her parents Gladys and Bill Fritz.

Ronald was in the Waupaca Motorcycle Club, the Lions Club, the Elks Club, a Jr. Warden at Intersession and St. Olaf's, volunteered as a driver at the Lincoln Center, volunteered with a youth fishing group, and went with a mission group with Lyn after hurricane Katrina.

Services for Ronald will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 320 Oak St., Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494. Visitation will be from 10-11am, with the service starting at 11am, with Father David Klutterman officiating.
